Fall Wedding Day at the Hilton Garden Inn Southpointe
Your wedding day goes by very quick, thats why we are so happy that Ava and Ken booked us as their wedding videographer. Ever since my first contact with Ava’s parents, I could tell this was going to be a beautiful celebration and I’m so happy we got to be a part of it.
THE DAY OF
The weather tried to scare us with some morning showers but when I got to the Hilton Garden Inn all I saw were smiles all around!
Ava was getting her make up done so I invited the bridal party to help with the detail shots in the lobby.
We always take some time to film the detail shots, but this time we included the bridal party and it was a huge success. The girls had wonderful ideas and they were so good at it, I wish I could hire them to come to every wedding with us. They each grabbed a prop, got in front of the camera and the magic began! Ava coulnd’t have selected a more perfect group of women to accompany her on her big day. My second shooter Matt, spent the morning the guys which allowed us full coverage of the wedding party.
During this time I tested our new GH5. I always shoot with Canon cameras so it was such a big deal when we purchased this Panasonic Mirrorles Camera. We are so happy we added this too our equipment bag. The built in stabilization worked great when I was taking B-Roll around the hotel without the need of a monopod. Plus the slow motion feature makes each clip look so cinematic! We can’t wait to use this camera more and more.
The rain stopped just in time for the first look! Ken waited at the altar for Ava and with all of their family and friends watching from the lobby’s window, Ava walked towards Ken and they saw each other for the first time.
The sun was out and the ceremony began. Our eyes filled with happy-tears as Ava walked down the aisle with her dad. The ceremony was short and sweet, the bride and the groom held hands and smiled the entire time.
We really wanted to take advantage of the outdoor ceremony so we made sure our drone was flying up high when Ava and Ken were announced husband and wife!
After the ceremony we had some time for family photos and portraits of the couple. We love this time because is our moment to get those romantic shots of them and fun shots with the bridal party before the reception began.
The reception at the Hilton Garden Inn Ballroom had a glamorous set up. The room was a combination of gold and burgundy that honored the fall wedding theme. The bridal party danced their way into the room but we where most impressed by the confetti celebration for the bride and the groom. It really got the party started.
Ava and Ken had their first dance to their song You Saved Me by Kenny Chesney. Then the speeches began, we were able to hook up our Zoom Hn4 recorder into the Dj’s booth so we had the most clean audio for their video. We sat down for a delicious meal which charged our batteries and got us ready for the rest of the night. The Photo Booth opened, the cookie table was ready and the party began. Ava and Ken did the dollar dance and I have never seen a bigger line for this! It was truly a huge celebration of love and Matt and I are so happy we got to be a part of it all.
