Why should we exchange love letters?

Letters are a traditional way to express oneself, and if you’ve ever seen our wedding trailers, you’d know we’re big on capturing that moment. We use the audio specifically to help tell the story of your day. It’s why we always encourage you to write a letter to one another.

Think about this for a moment. It’s the morning of your wedding, and you’re filled with nerves. With anticipation. You’re checking the weather forecast more than a dozen times. You ar fretting over last minute details and worrying over bouquet arrangements. Maybe you should have put this person next to that one instead. The point is, it will be hectic and stressful.

Love letter ideas for bride

Sitting down to read a letter from your future spouse gives you a quick escape from the chaos and it helps you reflect on what actually matters (and why you’re even going through all this in the first place). Your life together.

Before the couple gets dressed and they sit down in their suites to read those letters is one of our favorite moments. Time stops for a moment as they soak in one another’s words. They’re often reminded of the journey the two had together to get to this point; where they’ve been and where they’re going.

Capturing clean audio is always is important to us and we want to get every word you have to say to one another nice and clear. The day of we bring professional microphones for you to wear during these moments where you sit and read your letter.

We get that it can be intimidating to write this letter. Some couples get very stressed about it, but you don’t need to be. You can write anything you want! Just be yourself and write from the heart. It isn’t a race to see who can be more poetic or heart wrenching.

Perfection isn’t the goal.

Our suggestions:

Write the letter ahead of time and not the morning of your wedding. The sooner you get it done, it will be one less thing to stress about.

Take your time and make sure your handwriting is legible. If you aren’t sure, you could always print it instead of writing it. We have even seen couples emailing their letter and this works great. Anything goes!

When looking for inspiration, we tell couples to look back at old photos and think about their journey with their future partner. Go back in time to the first moment you met, or to the day you got engaged. Think about those special moments in between you’ve spent together. You will be writing in no time. Pinterest is another great way to find inspiration but don’t forget to make it personal.

Your words will be more significant simply because they are your own.
